Person testing a Totyn Faraday pouch by placing car key inside to block signal.

How To Test If Your Faraday Pouch Is Still Working

Over time, every Faraday pouch can lose a little of its blocking strength — especially if it’s been bent, worn, or stuffed with other items.

Testing it takes less than a minute and helps you know your car keys are still fully protected.

🧠 First Things First...Why Test?

The special lining inside your pouch is made from metallic fibers that block signals.
If that lining wears out or tears, your key’s wireless signal can leak through -  which means thieves could still detect it.

🧰 The Simple Test (Takes 30 Seconds)

Step 1: Walk up to your car with your key fob in hand.

Step 2: Put the key inside your Faraday pouch and close it completely.

Step 3: Try to unlock your car as normal.

✅ If the car doesn’t unlock, your pouch is still working perfectly.
⚠️ If the car does unlock, it’s time to replace your pouch -  the lining may be worn.

💡 Extra Tip

Do this quick test every few months, especially if you use your pouch daily or keep it in your pocket or bag.
And always store a spare pouch or a Faraday box at home for backup protection.
